Request data deletion

This page explains how to ask for your data to be deleted from Said Too Much
(com.loboda.james.neverhaveieveroriginal), what we delete when you ask, and what is kept.
Most of it deletes itself, and a lot never leaves your phone.
Said Too Much has no accounts — we never hold your name, email or phone number. Rooms delete themselves after about four hours, and your individual picks are deleted the moment a round's result is published. Uninstalling the app removes everything held only on your device. The steps below are for anything left over.
How to request deletion
- Email android.personal.support@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my data".
- Because there are no accounts, we have nothing to look you up by, so tell us what to find:
your anonymous ID if your app version offers it (Settings →
Copy my anonymous ID; older versions do not show it, and that is fine — say so
and we will tell you what else we can use) and, if the request is about a room, the
room code (the four or six letters, e.g.
PTSRCN), the display name you used, and roughly when you played. - If your request is about a report you sent, say so and give the approximate date.
We aim to reply within 30 days. We may come back to you if what you have given us is not enough to identify the data — without a room code and an approximate time there is usually nothing we can find, because none of it is filed under a person.
What is deleted
| Data | When |
|---|---|
| Your display name and seat in a room | Immediately when you leave the room, or on request while the room still exists. |
| Your individual pick in a round | Already deleted — it is erased in the same operation that publishes the round's result, and no other player can read it before then. |
| The room itself, including its results and standings | Automatically, about four hours after it is created. Always-open lobbies clear whenever they empty. On request if it is still live. |
| Your record of which prompts you have answered | On request. It is stored under your installation's anonymous identifier and is readable only by that identifier — and that identifier is the only thing it is filed under, so we cannot find this record without it. If your app version shows it, Settings → Copy my anonymous ID. |
| Reports you have sent | On request, unless we still need them to act on a safety problem. |
| Everything stored only on your device — decks you made, your streak, history, settings, blocked players, names typed for pass-the-phone games | Uninstall the app. This data is never sent to us, so there is nothing for us to delete. |
What is kept, and why
- Anonymous vote totals. When you answer a prompt, we add one to a count — the "47% have" figure the game shows everyone. It is two numbers per prompt with no identity attached, it cannot be traced back to you, and removing your answer from it is not possible because there is nothing in it that is yours. These are kept indefinitely.
- Reports about you made by other people, while we need them to act on a safety problem. Deleting these on request would make reporting pointless.
- Records we are required to keep by law, for as long as the law requires.
Deleting without contacting us
- Leave a room — your name and seat are removed from it immediately.
- Uninstall the app — everything held only on your device goes with it, and the anonymous identifier for your installation is not reused.
